Costa Rica Tarrazu
This coffee is grown on a mere 2.5 acre farm. Our vendor buys the green beans directly from the farmer. This allows the farmer to get a better price for his crop and reduces the number of stops between the farm and your cup to just two.
The dry beans have a marked malt and molasses fragrance with vanilla and caramel scents from the roast. The cup is very balanced. It’s unlike other coffees from the Dota area of Tarrazu, which have a winey or pulpy fruit sometimes. (This is partly because the time from picking to processing is delayed, and the cherry ferments in the skin). Bittersweet chocolate is very pleasant in the finish.
